Emma’s Cake Smash

September 3, 2014 2 Comments

Cake Smash’s seem to be the cool thing to do for kiddos turning one these days.  So naturally Emma HAD to have one. I decided photograph the event myself

I had in my mind getting one of those HUGE gigantic cupcakes from Crumbs but alas, Crumbs is no longer in business.  Why they could not have waited until after her birthday I do not know. DSC_0055

So I decided to make my own.  I bought a giant cupcake tin from Amazon.  I
“cheated” a little and used a box cake mix….funfetti…my favorite.  While I prefer to make my own cake, sometimes you just have to make your life easier.

I also made a “one” garland that I will re-use to decorate her high chair for both birthday parties.  If you are strapped for time or not much of a sewer, there are quite a few cute options on Etsy if you are ever in the market for one.

All in all it was a fun event to watch Emma have cake for the first time :).
