The Hot Toddy

March 4, 2015 Leave a Comment

To say I’m going stir-crazy is an understatement, maybe the understatement of the winter…besides the fact that it been FREEZING cold and there has been a LOT of snow.

the hot toddy

All things aside, this hot toddy has helped me get through winter from the sore throats to the winter blues, this drink has been perfect.  My husband introduced me to it earlier in the season and I am so glad he did:).  I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Ingredients
  1. 1 BIG mug
  2. 1 3/4 cup of hot water
  3. Your favorite tea bag (I like to use Peppermint or my absolute favorite - Teavana's Jade Citrus Mint)
  4. 1 to 2 tsp of honey
  5. 1/2 to 1 1/2 tsp of lemon juice (or a few squirts if you are not the measuring type)
  6. 3 or 4 cloves (optional)
  7. 1 shot of bourbon (optional - if I do use bourbon, I usually use Maker's Mark)
Instructions
  1. 1. Pour water into teapot and bring to a boil.
  2. 2. Steep tea in mug for approximately 2 minutes.
  3. 3. Add honey, lemon juice, cloves and bourbon.
  4. 4. ENJOY!
