Emma’s 2nd Birthday Bunny Bash

September 2, 2015 Leave a Comment

My beautiful Emma turned two on Monday…where did the time go?  But I guess you ask any mom that they will agree…time flies!!

In order to commemorate the occasion we threw Emma not one but TWO birthday parties.. a friend party AND a family party!  Needless to say there was a LOT of celebrating going on up in here!!

The friend party was Saturday morning so we had a bagel and cream cheese spread, fruit salad and quiche.  Not to mention a Mimosa and Bloody Mary Bar…I wish I had taken a picture…I am not sure how I missed that one! And the family party was Sunday afternoon so we had a bbq…burgers, hotdogs, chicken…and lots of yummy sides.

For both parties we had a dessert bar (of course).  One of the favorite things I made for the dessert tables were these bunny cupcakes…they were pretty cute (and tasty) if I do say so myself! The cupcakes were vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream frosting.  For the ears I made sugar cookie pops that I stuck inside the cupcake.  And for the eyes and noses I used sprinkles. There were even little pompoms for tails on the back…directions coming soon!  I am pretty happy with how they came out!

DSC_0328Food aside I had a cute sign hung up on the fence for people to see when they arrived…

DSC_0200Then, once you got inside to our back yard,  there was a sign that read, “Let’s Party!!! Get your bunny on!”  And there were bunny ears, bunny sunglasses and carrot necklace bubbles for everyone to choose from on the table.DSC_0115 And of course…a  shot of my little birthday bunny …she was so excited that her friends were arriving!DSC_0128  For Emma’s friend party we had a nearby Nature Center come by and bring bunnies and a few other fluffy friends.  Emma LOVED the bunnies.  I have a free really good shots of Emma petting the bunnies…my heart melted!

DSC_0149And of course one of the bunnies needed an extra set of bunny ears:)…DSC_0167 This is my favorite shot of Emma taken by my friend Liz…I will be framing this one for sure! It is so hard for me to get a good shot of her these days as she is always on the move!  Thanks Liz! DSC_0156 And last but not least.. the goodie bags!  I loved how they came out AND they were super simple to make…for each favor I just stuck on a white pompom with super glue to the kraftbag then attached a little tag with baking twine and voila!DSC_0331 DSC_0332All in all it was a great birthday weekend celebrating my little one.  Thanks for “hopping” by and checking it out! 🙂 xo  Lauren
