Snow Painting

January 25, 2016 Leave a Comment

Hope you are safe and warm and finally uncovered from all the snow if you hit with any this past from the blizzard.  We got about 12 inches of snow and my daughter was SO excited for all of it…it reminded me of how excited I use to get when it snowed when I was a teacher (on a side note if you are a teacher and have not seen this video yet…check it out…it is awesome!).

And because of all this excitement it was by far my favorite snow storm in awhile as it was the first time Emma really loved the snow.  We were able to make snow angels, build her first snowman, made some new flavors of snow ice cream AND Emma’s personal favorite…snow painting!!

I had seen snow painting mentioned on Pinterest or Parents.com awhile back and figured I would give it a try and I am glad I did…Emma really LOVED it.  It kept her occupied for hours…that’s right hours….

I mean…look at that intensity!

It is really easy to make…Emma and I just filled up a few spray bottles with water then added a few drops of food coloring and stirred the coloring around (we used McCormick’s Neon Food Color set), put the cap on and voila!

Just make sure your kids are wearing an old coat or let them know they need to only paint the snow and keep the spray bottle pointed at the snow/away from them so they don’t stain their clothes.

A final shot of Emma and her snowman!
