A DIY Chalkboard Door Project & My Spring Bucket List!!

March 30, 2015 Leave a Comment

So happy that spring is here although it is about time that the weather starts cooperating!!!   I have been over all this cold weather and snow for some time now, in fact I started decorating for Spring weeks before it even arrived.

One of the simplest projects that I did recently that is also coincidently one of my favorite projects in our house thus far is the chalkboard door in my kitchen.  All I did was simply paint the top part of our door with chalkboard paint. It has given me space to write our weekly menu, holiday and celebration inspired sayings and of course my favorite…my spring bucket list (see below).  We don’t have great light in our kitchen by this door so it has been hard to get a good picture but you get the idea!!

DIY Chalkboard Door Updated 2

The door reads:  “Spring Bucket List:  Visit farm and feed animals; Plant vegetables in garden; Decorate Easter Eggs; Easter Egg Hunt; Picnic in Park; Zoo Visit.”  This is what is on our door currently!  Looking forward to the weather warming up and knocking a few of those off our list.

ice cream door saying

The door reads: “You can’t buy happiness but you can buy ice cream and that is pretty much the same thing.”  This was what I put on the door during Emma’s ice cream party.

The door has one of our weekly menu’s on it!

Last but not least, a snippet from our Saint Patty’s Day …already almost 2 weeks ago now…how time flies…  “Emma” and I made corned beef and cabbage.  Next year I am going to have to step it up a notch maybe have a green beverage of sorts and a themed dessert to go with the meal.  What did you do for St Patty’s Day?!
