Bacon-Cheddar Pull-Apart Bread

February 4, 2015 2 Comments

bacon cheddar pull apart bread

I made this recipe for the Super Bowl on Sunday and it was a big hit.  It was perfect for the game and quite easy to make…I definitely recommend giving this one a try.  No need to wait until next Super Bowl ….it is also great for company, tailgating or a special yummy treat for a game or movie night… but be careful as it is quite addicting!!

Ingredients
  1. 16 oz bacon
  2. 4 scallions
  3. 8 oz shredded cheddar cheese
  4. 1 stick of unsalted butter
  5. garlic salt
  6. 1 loaf of round bread
Instructions
  1. 1. Cube and cook bacon in skillet or frying pan.
  2. 2. Set cooked bacon aside on a plate lined with paper towels.
  3. 3. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  4. 4. Cut loaf of bread with a serrated bread knife, making a grid on the loaf...be careful not to cut all the way through.
  5. 5. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place loaf of bread on top.
  6. 6. Melt one stick of butter and season with garlic salt. Then, with a pastry brush coat the insides of the loaf of bread (where you just made the grid cuts).
  7. 6. Stuff cheddar, bacon and scallions into loaf then repeat.
  8. 7. With any remaining butter you have, drizzle it on top of the stuffed bread loaf.
  9. 8. Put the loaf into the oven for 15 to 20 minutes, until cheese is fully melted. Serve warm!
